Chess
Kahoot! Learn Chess: DragonBox
Kids follow Grandmaster Max through six worlds, meeting each chess piece in puzzles before playing full games.
Learn Chess is DragonBox’s take on the game, shaped like an adventure. Kids follow Grandmaster Max across six worlds, and each world introduces one piece through small puzzles that use only that piece, so the rules seem to arrive one at a time. The pawn, rook, bishop, knight, queen and king each get a turn before checkmate patterns and simple tactics come in. A boss battle closes every world and tests the new skills in a real game, and there is practice at checkmating a lone king. Once the moves are familiar, the Chess Arena offers games against an engine from Easy up to a Grand Master challenge, with piece and board skins to unlock. A child who likes stories with their puzzles may warm to it fastest.
