How it works

A directory anyone can add to.

bored.kids is a directory of apps, games and online activities for kids. Anyone can list one, and every listing tells you plainly what kids do in it.

Anyone can list

Parents, teachers, makers and anyone else can add a product through the listing form. Moderators look over each one and publish it with details from the provider’s own website and app-store pages, so every listing reads the same way. Listings keep growing as people send updates, corrections and better details.

Where a listing shows ratings, it names the source and the date they were checked.

What gets featured

Moderators choose, at their discretion, which listings to feature, highlight or put first. Likes are part of the picture, but they don’t decide it on their own.

Age bands

The “My kid is” filter groups listings into 2–5, 6–8, 9–12 and 13+. Where a provider gives school grades or readiness guidance rather than ages, we place it in the bands that guidance points to. Each product page shows the provider’s own wording.

Likes and your shortlist

Tapping a heart saves a product to your shortlist and adds one like to its public count. Tap it again to take the like back. Counts include every heart tapped on this site, plus likes sent to us directly. Your shortlist itself stays in your browser, so no account is needed.

Updating or removing a listing

If you make a listed product, you can update its listing or ask us to take it down, along with its name, logo and images. Copyright owners and anyone else can ask us to remove something the same way (what to include). We look at every request and act on it promptly.
