Book Club for Kids
Kids listen as three young readers talk over a book they all read, then hear from its author.
Each episode of Book Club for Kids gathers three students to talk about a book they have all finished. Host Kitty Felde, a public radio journalist, keeps the conversation moving as the kids trade what they loved, what caught them off guard and which characters they would want as friends. The book’s author joins for an interview, and a celebrity guest reads a short passage. Episodes are around 20 minutes. The titles lean toward middle-grade novels, so the show fits kids already reading chapter books, and it could easily spark ideas for someone hunting for the next book. The website adds a Books We Love list, reading tips and a section where authors discuss writing. According to the site, kids can apply to appear on the show, either in person or remotely.
