Toca Boca World
Kids move characters between apartments, shops and a salon, dressing them up and acting out stories of their own.
Toca Boca World looks like an enormous digital dollhouse spread across many locations: apartments, a hair salon, a café, a theater, shops and more. Kids pick up characters, change their outfits and moods, feed them, hand them objects and drop them into any room to start a scene. Nearly everything on screen responds to a tap, from candles that light to radios that change station and cupboards that swing open. A Home Designer lets kids rearrange and decorate, while a Character Creator assembles new people from hair, faces and outfits. No goals, timers or scores show up, so play is shaped by whatever story a child invents, which seems to suit kids who like to direct their own scenes. The maker mentions a weekly gift at the Post Office, and on iOS kids can record narrated screen videos.
