Slice Fractions 2
Kids slice blocks into fractions so the right pieces drop into place, across more than 100 wordless puzzles.
Slice Fractions 2 hides its fraction lessons inside physics puzzles that use no words at all. Each level has a path to clear, and kids cut blocks into parts so the correct pieces tumble exactly where they are needed. Early puzzles are about splitting a whole into equal parts; later ones bring in numerators and denominators, equivalent fractions, common denominators, multiplying fractions and fractions greater than one. More than 100 levels are spread over three worlds, and little collectible pets trail along behind the player. The maker built it with education researchers at UQAM in Montreal, and the careful way each idea seems to lean on the one before hints at that collaboration. It plays as a puzzle game first, which may appeal to kids who groan at worksheets.
