NumBots
Kids help a rusty robot rebuild itself by solving addition and subtraction challenges.
NumBots comes from the same team as Times Tables Rock Stars and turns addition and subtraction into a robot repair job. Kids choose a bot and help RustyBot upgrade from Rust all the way to Diamond, hunting for parts in Story mode, where levels lean on pictures, number lines and blocks to show what is happening inside each sum. Challenge mode shifts the focus to speed, with number bonds to 5, 10, 20 and 100. Along the way the game works on subitizing, bridging through ten, near doubles, partitioning and compensating, the mental tricks that seem meant to move children off finger counting. Coins earned in play are spent in the Custom Shack, where kids design robots, keep them in a Scrapbook and print them out.
