Math
NRICH
Mathematical investigations from a University of Cambridge project, built around spotting patterns, testing ideas and explaining reasoning.
NRICH sorts its tasks by topics such as place value, geometry, measurement, probability and mathematical thinking, with an early-years entry point and primary collections. A task might be a visual puzzle with several possible answers, or a problem that makes more sense with objects on the table. The emphasis is on staying with one idea rather than racing through answers, and the parent guidance talks about supporting that kind of discussion.

Who it suits
The publisher covers ages 3–18, with separate early-years and primary collections for younger children. Difficulty varies task by task, and a child’s interest can count for more than the label.
Notes for parents
Many tasks read well aloud, with a grown-up asking how the child knows. Depending on the task, paper, counters or other simple objects come in handy.
