Math
Mathseeds
Kids move along a map of short animated math lessons and games, from first counting to early problem solving.
Mathseeds comes from the team behind Reading Eggs, and anyone who has seen that program will recognize the layout: short, animated, one-on-one lessons laid along a map. Kids start with a placement quiz meant to find their level, then work through counting, numbers, shapes, telling time and early problem solving, which the maker says runs from the very beginning up to roughly third grade. A lesson typically pairs a brief teaching animation with games and puzzles, and rewards collect as kids go. End-of-map quizzes and ‘Driving Tests’ appear designed to show what has stuck before moving on. Printable worksheets accompany the lessons, so a topic can carry over to the kitchen table.
