Kahoot! Algebra 2 by DragonBox

Kids solve visual equation puzzles that gradually become real algebra, from like terms to factoring.

Algebra 2 continues where the first DragonBox algebra game stops. Each puzzle is an equation laid out as two halves of a board, and the goal is to leave the box alone on one side using moves that keep both halves balanced. Early chapters rely on playful pictures; as kids move on, those pictures gradually become the numbers, letters and symbols of written algebra. Along the way come parentheses, positive and negative signs, fractions with common denominators, collecting like terms, factoring and substitution. The store lists 357 puzzles over 20 chapters, ten for learning and ten for training, each with its own art and music. Instructions are sparse, so most of the learning seems to happen through experimenting, which may delight curious kids and slow down more hesitant ones a little.
