History
iCivics
Kids run a presidential campaign, take on court cases and push bills through government in short civics games.
iCivics gathers more than 20 games about how government works, and it was founded by Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Win the White House has kids plotting a presidential run, building support and debating toward election night. Do I Have a Right? hands them a law firm taking constitutional cases, and in Branches of Power they write a bill and shepherd it past Congress, the president and the courts. Other titles touch on voting, local government, immigration and the founding era, and a couple, Neighborhood Good among them, appear aimed at younger players. Played through, checks and balances start to look a lot less abstract. Video playlists such as The Constitution EXPLAINED sit alongside. Middle and high schoolers seem the main audience, while little ones will likely gravitate to the handful made for them.
