Hey Duggee: The Big Badge App

Kids pick a Squirrel and play six quick games with Duggee, earning a badge for each one they finish.

The Big Badge App carries the CBeebies clubhouse onto a phone or tablet, and it appears to be built around six bite-size games. Kids choose a Squirrel, then style Duggee’s hair, color a Squirrel in, dress the gang up as superheroes, mix, bake and decorate a cake, search busy scenes for special leaves and trim a Christmas tree with tinsel. Finishing a game earns a badge, and collecting all six completes the set, much as it does on the show. A gallery keeps cakes and drawings so kids can revisit them. Each game looks like a few minutes’ play, which seems well matched to toddlers and preschoolers with short attention spans, and the humor and characters will feel very familiar to anyone who watches the show.
