Daniel Tiger’s Play at Home

Kids help Daniel Tiger through bedtime, bath time and a visit to the doctor across six short games.

Daniel Tiger’s Play at Home, from PBS KIDS, follows the rhythm of a small child’s day. Kids help Daniel get ready for bed, wash, brush and flush in the bathroom, and play doctor with a little kit of tools. There’s a pet fish to feed and care for, and a music game where tunes sound happy, sad or mad, which seems meant to get kids thinking about how feelings sound. A sticker book invites made-up stories in Daniel’s house and around the neighborhood, with songs from the show playing throughout. The six mini games are short and familiar, and they look handy for talking through something new or a little daunting, such as potty training or a first checkup. Fans of the series aged roughly two to five appear to be the intended audience.
